Biography

  • Giro Sanseverino was born c 1890, in Italy.2,3
  • Giro immigrated c 1905 to Pennsylvania Giro was 18 when he came to America.2,3
  • He went to work in the coal mines in Pennsylvania, and lived with Polish people. He stayed 4 or 5 years and then went back to Italy to marry Assunta. Then she came over to America with him. They first went to Pennsylvania for Giro to work in the coal mines, but Assunta was unhappy because she wanted to be near her relatives in Patterson NJ. There was a big explosion in the mines, and Giro then decided to do as his wife wanted, and they moved to Patterson, NJ. After a time he brought his mother over and the other boys from Italy. He bought a house for them in Hawthorne (Patterson) NJ.1
  • He married Assunta Cipoletti, daughter of Adolopho Cipoletti and Saveria Innacone, in 1913 in Avellino, Italy.1
  • Giro and Assunta immigrated c Jul 1914 Assunta & Giro came to America with their 2 month old daughter Jennie.1
  • Giro and Assunta lived in Paterson, New Jersey.1
  • In Feb 1921 Giro Sanseverino and Assunta were living in 64 Third Ave, Paterson, New Jersey.4
  • Giro Sanseverino was a silk dyer.1,3
  • Giro Sanseverino and Assunta appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Paterson, Passaic County, New Jersey, enumerated 1930.3
  • Giro Sanseverino died on 24 Feb 1932 in Paterson, New Jersey.1

Biography

  • Assunta Cipoletti was born in 1894, in Avellino, Italy.1
  • Assunta was not educated - she could not read or write.1
  • She married Giro Sanseverino, son of Mr Sanseverino and Giovanna Jannaccone, in 1913 in Avellino.1
  • Assunta and Giro immigrated c Jul 1914 Assunta & Giro came to America with their 2 month old daughter Jennie.1
  • Assunta and Giro lived in Paterson, New Jersey.1
  • Assunta Cipoletti was as a silk weaver in a silk factory. Also she was a seamstress in a factory.1
  • Paterson was the Silk City of the USA. All the relatives worked in the silk factories there. Assunta married Joseph in 1944 and bought the house in Fairview right at the same time. She was a strong-minded person. She did not come to America willingly. She was the youngest at home (in Italy), and had a good life there. She came because of her husband. He had come to America, then went back to Italy to get a bride, and returned with her to America.1
  • In Feb 1921 Assunta Cipoletti and Giro were living in 64 Third Ave, Paterson, New Jersey.2
  • Giro Sanseverino and Assunta appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Paterson, Passaic County, New Jersey, enumerated 1930.3
  • She was a doubler in the mill.3
  • Giro died on 24 Feb 1932 in Paterson, New Jersey, leaving her a widow.1
  • Assunta Cipoletti married John Giantonio s 1938.1
  • Assunta was married to John only a short time.1
  • Assunta Cipoletti married Joseph Dambro in 1944.1
  • Joseph died c 1950 in Fairview, New Jersey, leaving her a widow.1
  • Assunta Cipoletti died in Jan 1974 in Fairview, New Jersey.1
  • The cause of her death was heart failure.1
  • She was buried at the Laurel Grove Cemetery in Paterson, New Jersey.1
