  • Ludlow Seguine Bull was an associate curator of the Department of Egyptian Art at the Metropolital Museum of Art in New York City.8
  • He died on 1 Jul 1954 in Litchfield, Connecticut.9
  • He was buried at the East Cemetery in Litchfield, Connecticut.9
  • The family of Ludlow Bull made two endowments to the Pomfret School in Pomfret CT. One is the 1903 Conference Fund, which was created in 1956. The income brings personalities, concerts, and programs to the School for intellectual stimulation of students and faculty. The second fund is the 1903 Scholarship Fund which was created in 1954 by Mr Bull.10
In Aug 1919 Ludlow Bull, then a graduate student in Egyptology under James Henry Breasted, traveled with his professor & a group of students with the objective of purchasing artifacts for the Haskell Oriental Museum (now the Oriental Institute) at the University of Chicago. Also the group was scouting future archaelogical sites.7

    Frederick Kingsbury Bull II, at Freeport, Maine, June 11 2008. Bull taught stagecraft for UNC theater students, including Andy Griffith '49. He was a photographer in New York City and eventually settled in Freeport, where he spent time as a salesman. His volunteer activities included driving for Freeport Community Services, and he was a member of the national ski patrol. He was an Air Force engineer in World War II and the Korean War.

  • Alice Kingsbury, with her two nieces Ruth Kingsbury and Dorothy Bull, traveled to Liverpool on the ship Adelphi. They spent two and a half months visiting Stratford, Oxfors, London, Antwerp, the Hague, Cologne, Lucerne, Milan, Venice, Florence, Switzerland, Paris, Blois, Tours and back to Paris before heading back home, arriving 8 June in New York.3,4
  • Dorothy Bull appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Litchfield, Litchfield County, Connecticut in the household with her brother Frederick Kingsbury Bull.5
  • Dorothy Bull was the head of the Spring Hill School in Litchfield, Connecticut, along with Mabel Spinney. There were seven teachers listed, one secretary, one nurse, one housekeeper, five servants, one gardner, and a wife & child of (someone). The Spring Hill School seems to have been a girls school, but I can't find any information about it now (2010.)6

    Robert Cooper Townsend, 82, of Higganum, died on Friday, (September 21, 2001) at Middlesex Memorial Hospital in Middletown. Born in 1919, Robert worked as a design engineer on the Manhattan Project during World War II, and in peacetime designed boating equipment for Wilcox-Crittenden. He retired from Ripley Company, Portland, in 1983. He is survived by his wife Lois; his five children, Heather Campbell, Madeleine Burbank, Robert Townsend, David Townsend, and Suzanne Townsend;his 15 grandchildren, Valerie Vilbig, Rosalind Mooney, Curtis Olden, Jennifer Boucher, Alison Herrmanns, Heather Ellen Carrano, Graham Burbank, David Burbank, Peter Townsend, Sofia Skold, Simon Skold, Felicia Skold, Heath Ames, Jake Mills, and Ames Esler; and nine great-grands. We thank the incredible CCU staff at Middlesex for their loving kindness toward this remarkable man. No calling hours or funeral services.
