  • Mary Kingsbury Talcott was born on 3 Nov 1847.1
  • During her earlier life Miss Talcott was much interested in art, but of late years has devoted herself to historical and genealogical work. She has written much about the history of Hartford, CT. She was a member of the New England Historic Genealogical Society. She edited and compiled the book The Genealogy of the Descendants of Henry Kingsbury of Ipswich and Haverhill, Mass.1
  • As of 1903 Mary lived in Hartford, Connecticut.1

Biography:
  • Russell Goodrich Talcott was born on 15 Aug 1818, in Hartford, Connecticut.1
  • He was a businessman, working first as a clerk in the store of Hudson & Goodwin, booksellers. By 1840 he was a clerk in the Hartford Bank. He then worked in the iron business with the firm Ripleys & Talcott, which later became G Ripley & Co.2
  • He married Mary Seymour on Wednesday, 28 Oct 1846.2
  • Russell Goodrich Talcott died on 3 Mar 1863 in Hartford, Connecticut, at age 44.1

  • He was engaged in the drygoods business. He was a superintendent of a cotton factory in Monson, MA, later returned to Hartford to take charge of the business there.1
  • He married Harriet Kingsbury, daughter of Andrew Kingsbury and Mary Osborn, on Monday, 5 Jun 1815.1
  • Russell Talcott died on 26 Sep 1818 in Hartford, Connecticut, at age 30.1

Biography:
  • Andrew Kingsbury was born on 24 Apr 1759, in West Farms (now Franklin), Connecticut.1
  • "He enlisted as a private soldier, in June, 1776, in Col. John Chester's Regiment of Connecticut Troops, was in the action with the British troops at Flatbush in Long Island, Aug 27, and in the rear guard of General Washington's Army in their retreat from Long Island to New York, Aug 30, 1776, and in the action at White Plains, Oct 128, 1776; discharged with the Regiment at Salisbury, in Pennsylvania, Dec 25, 1776; went home, and entered the service again in April, 1777, when he joined Col. John Chandler's Regiment of Continental Troops, at Danbury, and in May was transferred to the General Hospital Department, where he served as Clerk, until Dec 15, 1778, when he received the appointment of Storekeeper, and served in that capacity until March 13, 1781; in May, 1781, became first Clerk in the office of Ralph Pomeroy, Esq, Deputy Quartermaster-General, at Hartford, where he continued until September, 1783."2
  • He married Mary Osborn on Tuesday, 14 Jan 1783 in Danbury, Connecticut.3
  • Andrew and Mary had five children.3
  • He was more interested in genealogy than most people of that time were, and his great granddaughter, Miss Talcott, has in her possession [1905] a chart which he made out, going back to his ancestor, Joseph Kingsbury, who came from Haverhill to Norwich, giving the descendants as far as he knew them.3
  • Andrew Kingsbury died on 6 Oct 1837 in Hartford, Connecticut, at age 78.3
