  • There was quite a contingent of Sargents located on neighboring farms in Springfield PA, which is on the northern border of that state, about 25 miles south of Elmira, NY. Samuel and his son Dwight lived on adjacent farms. Two brothers lived nearby - Clark and Mainsfield Grace, who were second cousins to Samuel. Also Martin Harkness and family lived there. Actually all of their fathers lived in Springfield - the kinship goes back further!3
