Eliza Maria Bancroft1

ID #29141, (1830-1845)

Biography

Inscription:
Though friendship's tears are fresh above
The grassy mound 'neath which she sleeps,
She speaks no more in tones of love,
Nor heeds the friend that o'er her weeps;
No more her bosom swells with sighs!
Her spirit dwells beyond the skies!
Yet again we hope to meet thee,
When the day of life is fled.
Then in heaven with joy to greet thee,
Where no farewell tear is shed.2
