Biography

  • Malachi Thomas was born on 30 Jan 1746/47, in Lebanon, Connecticut.2
  • Father: John Thomas (b 4 Dec 1700) - Mother: Hannah Spafford (Spofford?) (b 3 Feb 1709). They married in Lebanon CT.2,3
  • An alternative spelling of his name was Malichi.2
  • He married Mary Mackall, daughter of Elijah Mackall and Mehitable Arnold, on Wednesday, 3 Oct 1770 in Mansfield, Connecticut.4
  • Malachi Thomas was in the Revolutionary War. He served for 19 days after the Battle of Lexington. Word was sent out after that battle that more men were needed and 4000 men came from Connecticut. The Regiment was called The Lexington Alarm List, the company command was Clark.3,5
  • Malachi Thomas died on 22 Apr 1794 in Chatham, New York, at age 47.6
  • He was buried at the DeWitt Brown Road Cemetery in New Corcord, New York.7
