  • He married Zerviah Freeman, daughter of Skiff Freeman and Mary Aspinwall, on Thursday, 31 Dec 1801.2,4
  • 1814 Alpheus, his brother Benjamin & Ephraim Gurley built an iron foundry in Gibbonsville NY.5
  • 1815 in Troy, New York, By 1815 he moved to Troy NY where he build an foundry and also made telescopes.5
  • In 1821 Alpheus moved to Hartford, Connecticut, where he continued in the foundry business.5
  • Alpheus and Zerviah had 8 other children who died young.5
  • He died on 29 Dec 1831 in Hartford, Connecticut, at age 54.2
