    Vivian Eldredge

    ID State Journal 11-6-1973

    Vivian Elizabeth Eldredge, 77, of Carey, died Saturday evening in a Pocatello nursing home, folling and [sic] illness.
    She was born Oct. 14, 1896 in Lamar, MO., to Rueben Thomas and Rosa Pikman Cross and came to Idaho with her family as a young girl. They lived in Bellevue for a short time before taking up a homestead in Crooks, now known as Fish Creek.
    On July 22, 1914 she married Forest Howard Eldredge at Hailey. He preceded her in death Dec. 15, 1972
    Mrs. Eldredge was a member of the LDS Church.
    Survivors include seven sons, Gail V. of Gibbonsville, Clifton of Novato, Calif., Willard of Idaho Falls, Omar D. of Hailey; Burl T. and J. Allen, both of Twin Falls and Keith of Charles City, Iowa; four daughters; Mrs. Esther Dedman of Salt Lake City, Mrs. Thomas (Mary_ Stanger of Idaho Falls, Mrs. Falph (Jeanine) Keller of Pocatello and Mrs. Lloyd (Julia) Spencer of Richfield; five sisters, Mrs. Lionel Hutton of Meridian, Mrs. Tracy Dilworth and Mrs. Wiley Guffy both of Reno, Nev.; Mrs. Charles Hurst of Phoenix, Ariz.; and Mrs. Fred Hurst of Bellevue; a brother Gilbert of Carev; and 56 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren. A son, a daughter and a sister preceded her in death.
    Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Carey LDS Ward chapel with Bishop Verd Murdock officiating. Burial will be in the Carey Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Carey Ward chapel from 11 a.m. Wednesday until service time. Arrangements are under the direction of the Manning Funeral Chapel, Pocatello.

    Mary Elizabeth Eldredge Stanger, 95, formerly of Idaho Falls, passed away June 24, 2016, at her home in Blackfoot. She was under the care of Encompass Hospice.



    Mary was born May 21, 1921, in Carey, Idaho, to Forest Howard Eldredge and Vivian Elizabeth Cross. She grew up and attended schools in Carey and graduated from Carey High School.



    On June 10, 1939, she married Thomas Laughlin Stanger in Hailey, Idaho. To this union were born seven children, Patricia, Bonnie, Lloyd, Raymond, Calvin, Janice, and Karen. Mary and Tom made their home in Blackfoot, and later Idaho Falls, where Mary worked as a homemaker.



    She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a seamstress, and enjoyed hand-quilting, crochet, gardening, paint-by-numbers from Germany, pixel-hobby mosaics from Holland, and knitting 500 pair of baby booties for humanitarian kits. She also made numerous quilts for Primary Children’s Hospital.



    Mary is survived by daughter, Patricia Ann Daniel of Des Moines, WA; son, Lloyd Thomas (Linda) Stanger of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Janice Lee (Richard) Stephens of Blackfoot, ID; son, Raymond Wayne (Roxann) Stanger of Rigby, ID; son, Calvin Dean (Darla) Stanger of Sunnyvale, CA; daughter, Karen L’nette (Ray) Hannah of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Burl Thomas (Betty) Eldredge of Wendell, ID; brother, Jerold Allen (Ann) Eldredge of Jerome, ID; sister, Julia Margaret (Karl) Ward of Jerome, ID; 19 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.



    She was preceded in death by her daughter, Bonnie Kay Killian, husband, Thomas L. Stanger, father, Forest Howard Eldredge, mother, Vivian Elizabeth Cross.




    Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, with Bishop Daniel Hale officiating. The family will visit with friends from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. prior to services at Wood Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.



    In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Primary Children’s Hospital online at https://give.intermountainfoundation.org/primary-childrens-hospital or through Primary Children's Hospital Foundation, PO Box 58249, Salt Lake City, UT 84158.

    Keith Nelson Eldredge, 77, of Newburn, TN passed away at his home on August 16,
    2013 after a long battle with cancer.

    He was born on August 13th 1936 in Carey, Idaho to Forest and Vivian Eldredge.
    He was amongst 11 children.

    On October 24, 1957 he married Beverly Ann Cutler, they had four children. After
    working several jobs in Idaho their family relocated to Charles City, IA where
    he spent his working career as a mechanic for Swartzrock Implement.

    Keith loved to fish, play guitar, singing, camping, making homemade foods with
    the family, and being a testimony of the Lord to others. He was a faithful
    member and deacon of Calvary Baptist Church for over 30 years.

    After losing his wife Beverly of health complications he wed Marie Lamb on July
    22nd 1988. Upon retirement in 2001 they moved to Newburn TN.

    Keith spent several years as a volunteer at the Dyersburg Regional Medical
    Center. He was a great inspiration to patients and staff. Keith was also a
    member of Second Baptist Church.

    He was proceeded in death by Keith Junior, David John, and Beverly Ann Eldredge,
    his parents, and 6 siblings.

    Keith is survived by his wife Marie Eldredge, Daughters Christine (Tony) Kerns,
    Penny (Stuart) Ihde, step sons Gary Lamb, Ray (Brenda) Lamb, John (Tracy) Lamb,
    and Paul Lamb. Survivors also include 11 grandchildren and 11 great
    grandchildren, along with 4 siblings.

    Memorial services will be held at Second Baptist Church, 1720 Schaffer St.
    Dyersburg, TN on August 31st at 2:00pm.

    Memorial donations can be directed to the family at 2026 Paulis Drive, Faribualt
    MN 55021 in lieu of Keith Eldredge. Funds will be used to cover burial expenses
    and any additional funds will be directed to the National Cancer Society and
    Hospice Care Centers of Tennessee.

    Funeral services for Gail Veone Eldredge, 58, were held at the Salmon Stake Center on 13 June 1974. Mr. Eldredge died 9 June 1974 at his home in Salmon. He was born 30 September 1915 in Carey, Idaho, the son of Forest H. and Vivian E. Cross Eldredge. He was the oldest in a family of 12 children. He attended public school in Carey and at an early age went to work for a local sheep rancher. 1 December 1937, he married Dorothy sparks in Rupert. Five children were born to this union. He went to work for the Idaho Highway Department 1 January 1945 in Carey. He entered the U.S. Navy 29 May 1945, in Salt Lake City and served during World War II. After the service he returned to work for the highway department in Carey until 1 December 1951 when he transferred to Arco. 17 February 1969, he transferred to Gibbonsville until 1 Januray 1974, when he began working in Salmon. He received a 25 year service award last November for his years of service. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple on 12 January 1955. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He is survived by his widow, Dorothy, of Salmon; three daughters, Dora(Lewis)Cummings, Doris(Raymond)Pier and Ivy Jean Porter all of Salmon, and a son Larry Eldredge of Salmon. He is survived by 10 brothers and sisters, Clifton Eldredge of Novato, California, Esther Deadman of Salt Lake City, Mary Stanger of Idaho Falls, Willard Eldredge of Idaho Falls, Omar Eldredge of Hailey, Burl Eldredge of Kinberly, Allen Eldredge of Twin falls, Jeane Keller of Pocatello, Keith Eldredge of Iowa and Julia Spencer of Richfield. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a son, Pierre Thomas, a grandson and a brother. Vault interment took place in the Salmon Cemetery.

    Willard June Eldredge, 82, of Idaho Falls, died at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. He was born at Carey, Idaho, to Forest Howard Eldredge and Vivian Elizabeth Cross. He grew u in the area, graduating from Carey High School. He served as a Sergeant in the Army during World War II and received training as a medic. At the end of the war, he was stationed in Brigham City, Utah, as a military policeman. On May 9, 1946, he married Edith Norene Andreasen in Brigham City. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple. They moved to Idaho Falls in 1954, and in 1965, they moved to Coltman. He worked as a security inspector for the Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) at the site. He was elected as the first president of the union for the security guards. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a Cubmaster and Home Teacher. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, horseback riding, gardening, and woodworking. Willard and Norene wintered in Yuma, Arizona and loved spending time during the summer at their cabin in Palisades.
