    Rites For Mrs. Lewis Will Be Held Today - Funeral services for Mrs. Inez Catherine Lewis, 73 years old, who died at 8:30 o'clock Tuesday night at her home at Diamond, will be held at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon at the Blendville Christian church, with the Rev. W. H. Flippin, pastor, in charge.

    Nephews of Mrs. Lewis will serve as pallbearers. Burial will be in the Forest Park cemetery.

    The body will lie in state from 8 o'clock this morning until 2 o'clock this afternoon at the residence, nine miles east on Twentieth street.

    Mrs. Lewis was born in Iowa and came to Joplin when she was 3 years old, where she had lived practically all her life. She was a barber thirty years ago in Joplin.

    She is survived by two sons, Nola Horton and Oscar Horton of Commerce, Okla.; six daughters, Mrs. James Chew, Mrs. Murray Clark, Mrs. Ralph Reusch and Mrs. Ott Gorsuch, all of Joplin; Mrs. Charles Grubb of Diamona and Mrs. Charles Lewis of Seminole, Okla; eighteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.     Nola Horton Dies Of Heart Attack
    Commerce, Okla, April 15 -- Anthony (Nola) Horton, 57 years old, widely-known district mill man, died at noon Friday at his home here, following a heart attack.

    Mr. Horton was born November 2, 1875, in Joplin, where he had made his home more than forty years. He was engaged as an ore hauler in Joplin several years. He came to Commerce seventeen years ago, where he had been employed as a millwright by the Commerce Mining and Royalty Company for many years.

    Funeral Services Today.
    He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Viola Horton; a daughter, Mrs. Leona Young; a grandson, Jackie Young; six sisters, Mrs. Hazel Lewis of Seminole, Okla., Clara Grubb of Diamond, and Mrs. May Chew, Mrs. Ina Clark, Mrs. Iva Gorsuch, and Mrs. Eva Reusch, all of Joplin; a brother, Oscar Horton of Commerce, and nineteen nieces and nephews.

    Nephews who will serve as pallbearers are Murry Clark Jr., Floyd Chew and Earl Chew of Joplin, Carl Lewis of Seminole, and Oscar Horton and John Horton of Commerce.

    Funeral rites will be held at 10 o'clock Sunday morning at the First Christian church of Commerce, of which Mr. Horton was a member. A Miami minister will be in charge of the service. Burial will be in the G.A.R. cemetery at Miami. (Joplin Globe, 16 April 1933)

She never regained consciousness. Mrs. Gorsuch was born February 2, 1889, in Joplin, and had lived here all her life. Surviving, besides her husband, are a brother, Oscar Hardin, living on East Twentieth Street, and five sisters, Mrs. May Chew, 512 Connor Avenue, Mrs. Clara Grubb of Diamond, Mrs. Ira Clark, 2310 Bird Avenue, Mrs. Eva Reusch, 2402 Maiden Lane, and Mrs. Hazel Lewis of Seminole, Okla.
