The Winthrop Fleet Between 1629 and 1630 the Massachusetts BayCompany organized ships to sail to New England. The fleet, according to John Winthrop consisted of about 700 people, 240 cows, 60 horses.
The first four ships, containing most of the passengers, sailed at the end of March 1630. The others followed.
