Norma Jean Lanning June 7, 1932 – April 21, 2011. Norma Jean Lanning, 78, died April 21, 2011 at Bonell Good Samaritan Center in Greeley. She was born June 7, 1932 to Charles and Irma (John) Kelly in Springfield, Illinois. On July 3, 1953, she married Russell B. Lanning in Cheyenne, Wyoming. As a child Norma moved to the Wellington area, where she graduated high school. She moved to Greeley in the early 1960s.
She worked as a bookkeeper for Greeley Auto Supply for 30 years. She then worked for King Soopers. Norma was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Eaton, where she was active in church groups. She was also a lifelong member of 4-H. She served as the 4-H leader in Weld County for 25 years.
Norma is survived by two sons, Rick Lanning and wife Lucy of Greeley and Randie Lanning and wife Leanne of Eaton; one brother, Chuck Kelly and wife Rhetta Mae of Burley, Idaho; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband Russell, and a granddaughter, Rebecca Lanning. Memorial service 2 p.m. Friday at Faith Lutheran Church in Eaton.
