Miss Sargent Dies at 103
Longtime Employe Of Printing Firm
Miss Lena Sargent, a resident of Springfield from 1910–1962, died yesterday morning at the age of 103 in Sacramento, Calif.
Miss Sargent was a life member of the Business and Professional Womens’ Club here and was honored for her membership last February.
She was the oldest member of the International Typographical Union Local 158, life and charter member of the Missouri Historical Association, and a member of the YWCA in Springfield and Sacramento.
She was former assistant editor of the Bolivar Herald and was employed by the Inland Printing Company for 50 years. She was a longtime member of the South Street Christian Church and served as a Sunday school teacher for 60 consecutive years. Activities in Sacramento included membership in the Children’s Home Society, Camellia Chapter.
Miss Sargent is survived by two sisters. Miss Emma G. Sargent and Mrs. Lillian S. Buhler, both of Sacramento.
The body will be brought back to Springfield for services and burial under the direction of Jewell E. Windle.

MISS LENA MABLE SARGENT
Funeral services for Miss Lena Mable Sargent, 103, former Springfieldian who died Thursday in Sacramento, Calif., will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, in South Street Christian Church, with Dr. William T. Gibble officiating. Burial will be in Hazelwood cemetery, under direction of Jewell E. Windle.
The casket will be open at the church from 10 a.m. until service time. Friends may make contributions to the building fund of the South Street Chris tian Church.

Missouri death certificate # 11792 listed his occupation as Doctor, practiced medicine. Parents Unknown. Never in armed services. Informant Miss Lena Sargent of Springfield, MO. He died in Burge Hospital. Male, white, widow. Never in armed forces. Jewell E. Windle Funeral Home. Interred in Hazelwood Cemetery April 21, 1954.

I have some additional information re: Jesse Sargent.
Dr Jesse Sargent was born in Plainview, Wabasha, Minnesota to Uzzel Franklin, and Lotta Sargent. Jesse married his first cousin, Dr Fenora Weston Sargent, on 28 jul 1902. She was the daughter of Drs Uzza Washington and Evaline Elizabeth (Moseley) Sargent. Uzza was the twin brother of Uzzel. They were born on 5 Feb 1838 in NY to Jacob and Almira Sargent. Lena Sargent who is also buried in Hazelwood cemetery was the sister of Jesse. She was also born in Plainview, MN and died in Sacramento, CA. just a few weeks shy of her 104th birthday. She never married.
