Sixth of seven sons of Charles and Minnie Lentz of Millersburg, Penn., he is survived by only one brother, Carl of Harrisburg, Penn., but many nephews and nieces.
Truly one of the "Greatest Generation" Paul served his country with five of his brothers during World War II. Paul rose to the rank of Lieutenant and was part of Patton's tank forces as they advanced across Europe. During time spent in Paris, he met Faith who arrived in Paris as a member of the U.S. State Department. They were married soon after War's end, and moved to California where Paul attended Stanford University on the GI Bill. Upon graduation from Stanford, Paul began a 36 year career with Van Waters & Rogers, where he rose through the ranks from sales trainee to ultimately the presidency in 1971. He retired from Van Waters & Rogers in 1986.
Paul's great passions after his family, were traveling and gardening. Paul and Faith were both multi-lingual, and particularly loved traveling in Europe, Hawaii, and the Middle East. Raised on a Pennsylvania farm, he was incredibly adept at growing - anything. His special loves were roses and orchids.
On February 3rd, a Memorial Service was held at Stanford Memorial Church, followed immediately by interment with a military honor guard at Skylawn Memorial Cemetery in San Mateo. He has joined his beloved Faithy. Please make any contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 309, Mountain View, Calif. 94042-0309.
