DAVID - Betty June Benter, 77, of Lake Summerset died at 4:50 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003, in St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn. Born June 1, 1926, in Beloit, Wis., the daughter of Edwin M. and Bessie Milheam Gardiner. Lived 20 years in Lake Summerset, coming here from Chicago. Betty married Jacob B. Benter June 22, 1946, in Chicago. She enjoyed raising her family and caring for her grandchildren. Member of St. Mary Catholic Church and St. Anne CCW in Durand. Betty attended Roosevelt High School and graduated from Schurz High School. Survivors include husband, Jacob daughter, Melody (James) Neurauter of Des Plaines son, Jack (Deborah) Benter of Boulder City, Nev. daughter, Donna (Michael) Burns of Livermore, Calif. and six grandchildren. She was predeceased by parents and a brother.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, in St. Mary Catholic Church, Durand, with Monsignor Eric Barr, pastor, officiating. Burial in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15, with Scripture service at 7:45, at McCorkle Funeral Home, 101 Main St., Durand. In lieu of flowers, memorials to American Cancer Society.
