David Morey DeMott. January 30, 1937 - June 23, 2012. Resided in Marshall, MI
David M. DeMott, age 75, of Marshall died Saturday afternoon in the care of Oaklawn Hospice and his loving family.
Mr. DeMott was born on January 30, 1937 in Battle Creek to John W. and Naomi (Morey) DeMott. He was a life long resident of this area and had been a very active member of the Marshall High School, class of 1955. He served in the United States Marines from 1954 thru 1956. Mr. DeMott had been employed as a staff member of the United Auto Workers Union serving the Calhoun, Branch and Hillsdale counties from 1973 to 1992. Prior employment included Eaton Corporation in Marshall.
In 1957, he married the former Sandra Fischer Taylor. That marriage ended and on April 30, 1969, he married Leah (Judy) Collins.
David was an active member of the Lyon Lake United Methodist Church where enjoyed the company of his church family. He enjoyed playing golf and had been a member of the Tomac Woods Golf Course's Monday Senior League for 17 years. He had also been a caller for the M-99 Square Dance Club in Homer. He had owned and raced cars at local race tracks. David, "I very much enjoyed my children and grandchildren; I especially enjoyed my time with my wife including our travels together".
He is survived by his wife, Leah; children, Alex, Nannette, Patricia, Brenda and David; step-children, Chad Collins and Laurie Jean Taylor; 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, John and a sister, Gail.
Private family services will be held at later date. Arrangements are by the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Marshall. Friends that wish may make memorial contributions to the Lyon Lake Methodist Church, Oaklawn Hospice or to the Marshall Fountain Clinic. Assistance with memorials is available at the funeral home.
"Leroy C Webster, 69, of Bennett's Mills Road, died last Thursday at the Paul Kimball Hospital after an illness of three days.
He was born here and had lived in the area all his life. He was the son of the late Frank and Jessie Valentine Webster. He was a carpenter and a member of the First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Lena McCurdy Webster; a son, Jack Webster, Lakewood, and two daughters, Mrs Virginia Pearce, Neptune and Miss Anna Marian Webster, living at home; a brother, George Webster, Rosedale, LI; and two sisters, Mrs Isabel Parker, Brooklyn, and Mrs Margaret Johnson, Smithtown, LI.
Funeral services was conducted by the CHT Clayton Funeral Home of Adelphia".
