David Neal Fox died on June 14, 2011, in Oklahoma City OK. He was born on October 9, 1930, to parents Furman L. and Helen Howard Fox. As a young man he served four years in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. David then went on to complete his undergraduate degree from the University of Oklahoma where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Business. He then attended Oklahoma City University, where he completed a Jurist Doctorate in Law. Working for the Internal Revenue Service as an Estate Tax Attorney, David was presented with the Galliton Award for Outstanding Service. He retired after 30 years of dedicated service and continued to practice law from home, helping many clients and friends.
He was an active member of Wickline United Methodist Church where he served as Chairman of the Pastor Parish Relations Committee, was a member of both the Finance and Scholarship Committees, and taught a Youth Sunday School Class. David was a joy to know and a true gift and blessing to his wife, children, grandchildren, and friends. He was and continues to be an inspiration to those who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Allen Fox.
He is survived by his wife JoAnne Bernarde Fox; daughters Jayne Fox Detten and husband Mark Detten, and Susan Fox Wilson and husband Brian Wilson; grandchildren Lauren Detten Scarbrough and husband Derrick Scarbrough, Michael David Detten, Grant Richard Detten, Jennifer Jones, and Erin Wilson; great-grandchildren Claire and Jake Scarbrough; and sister-in-law Charlotte Fox.
