Shirley Mae Games , 57, of 288 N. West St. died at 6:53 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, 1993, at her home.
She was born Aug. 23, 1935, in Pekin to Ferd and Rhoda Sanderson Gardner. At the age of 5, she was adopted by Floyd and Eloise Bombard, who survive in Lakeland, Fla. She married Max "Dan" Games on Feb. 14, 1955, in Vincennes, Ind. He survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Susie Brown of Russellville, Ind., Lisa Mahr of Farmington and Jackie Vallas of Folsom, Calif.; two sons, Danny of Farmington and Terry of Champaign; four brothers, Ferd Gardner of Green Valley, Bob and Bill Gardner, both of Pekin, and Kendall Bombard of Terre Haute, Ind.; three sisters, Alice Wald of Chicago, Helen Schnarr of Pekin and Phyllis Coffman of Peoria; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. One son, Scott E., and one brother preceded her in death.
She was a cook at Kersh's Cafe in Farmington for five years. She was past senior regent of Farmington Women of the Moose Chapter 470.
She was a member of Farmington United Methodist Church, where memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Mark Schleeter will officiate. There will be no visitation. Cremation has been accorded and burial of ashes will be in Norris Cemetery in Norris.
Arrangements are by Anderson Funeral Home in Farmington. Memorials may be made to Spoon River Valley Hospice.
Max Dan Games , 69, of 288 Northwest St. died at 10:20 a.m. Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, in Graham Hospital emergency room in Canton.
Born July 28, 1929, in Amo, Ind., to Ernest and Hazel Games , he married Shirley Bombard on Feb. 14, 1955, in Vincennes, Ind. She died Jan. 31, 1993. He also was preceded in death by one son, Scott, five brothers and two sisters.
Surviving are three sons, Danny of Farmington, Terry of Mahomet and Jerome of Tacoma, Wash.; three daughters, Lisa Mahr of Farmington, Susie Brown of Russellville, Ind., and Jackie Vallas of Folsom, Ga.; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Madge Brinegar of Bloomington, Ind., Wilma Clark of New Salem, Ind., and Betty Lewis of Okeechobee, Fla.
He was a fork truck driver at Caterpillar Inc., retiring in 1976. He was a mechanic in the Air Force. He was a former member of Farmington Moose Lodge 1571 and a former Boy Scout leader.
Graveside services and burial of ashes will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Norris Cemetery in Norris. The Rev. Bruce Ghitalla will officiate. Cremation has been accorded. Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Farmington Rescue Squad.
Scott Edward Games , 34, of New Port Richey, Fla., formerly of Farmington, died at 2:10 a.m. Tuesday, June 16, 1992, at Riverside Hospital in New Port Richey.
Born Nov. 23, 1957, in Houston, Texas, to Max and Shirley Bombard Games , he married Janet Kay Hand. She survives.
Also surviving are his parents, of Farmington; three daughters, Jennifer Games , Julie Games and Suzanne Games , all at home; two brothers, Danny of Farmington and Terry of Champaign; two sisters, Lisa Mahr of Farmington and Jackie Vallas of Folsom, Calif.; and grandparents, Floyd and Eloise Bombard of Lakeland, Fla.
He was employed as assistant manager at Tire Kingdom in New Port Richey. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in New Port Richey.
Memorial services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Michels & Lundquist Funeral Home in New Port Richey. The Rev. John Reinholt will officiate. There will be no visitation. Cremation will be accorded.
