Harry R. Hall
Funeral services were held Sunday for Harry R. Hall at his home in Morris Township. Death occurred last Thursday at the Graceville hospital. Rev. H.H. Symons conducted the services. Interment was in Summit cemetery.
Mr. Hall was born in Morris township, December 16 1876 and had lived there practically all of his life. He was the son of Rollin J. and Emma J. Hall and lived with his family at the farm home where he was born. This home was built by his parents 55 years ago.
Mr. Hall was married to Myrtle Hollenbeck, March 16, 1904 who survives him. He is also survived by six children, Charles, Laura, Harold, Gordon, Olive and Eleanor all living at the family home and by three brothers and on sister, Miss Grace Hall, Ernest E. Hall and Fay Hall of Morris and Lester Hall of Riverside, Calif.
Mr. Hall was clerk of the school district in which he lived and always took a keen interest in the affairs of the community. Members of the Neighborhood club to which Mr. Hall belonged, acted as pallbearers. The were Julius Biksen, John Dornquast, Kenneth McKay, Robert Walker, Thomas Shives and Ed Hruby.2
Margaret was born in Pope County near Cyrus, to Sever and Kari (Galdi) Veum. She married Gordon Hall in 1935.
The couple farmed on Yankee Ridge Road all of their married lives. Margaret lived life to the fullest, enjoying her family and friends. She especially enjoyed quilting with the ladies at the Federated Church where she was a member, and was an active member of the Steven’s County Historical Society. She enjoyed many bus trips with her sister-in-law Sylvia Hall. Her days in the nursing home, were brightened by the loving care of Pat, Lindsay, and Brett Anderson. She will be missed by her family and friends.
Margaret died on Friday, July 25th at the Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris, having lived to reach the age of 95.
She is survived by her daughter: Barbara Arnhold of Sauk Rapids, sons: Rollin Hall of Starbuck, and Gordon (Carol) Hall of Redwood Falls; grandchildren: Lon (Cindy) Arnhold, Gary Arnhold, Todd Arnhold, Dawn (John) Udenberg, Rodney (Melissa) Hall, Mark Hall, Rachelle (Scott) Bengtson and Daniel (Lisa) Kopitzke; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild: Lucas Arnhold; sister: Clara (Warren) Mayer of Eagan; sisters-in-law: Rose Veum of St. Paul, Jeanette Veum of Starbuck; many nieces an nephews; and her best friend Lila Estenson of Cyrus. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Gordon; daughters: Myrna Hall, Sandra Hall Kopitzke; great-granddaughter: Rachel Hall; great-grandson: Scott Arnhold; son-in-law: Robert Arnhold; brothers: Peder, Melvin, and Edward Veum; sister-in-law: Ruth Veum; and brother-in-law: Magnus Flaten.1
