"Ruth, daugher of Samuel G. and Ruth (Holmes) Humiston, became and excellent teach and conducted a private school in Waterbury, CT. She was a graduate of Mount Holyoke and a favorite of its founder, Mary Lyon. Under Ruth Holmes Humiston's tuition the dullest were stimulated and the brightest wisely guided, and an impression remained with her pupils which no after experience could obliterate.

I can find nothing else about this woman. Her history is very similar to an entry for her sister Esther, eg. educator - ran a school in Watrbury. Maybe the sisters ran it together. Can't find any other records for Ruth.
