Edwin Rodvig Sorensen
Edwin (Ed) Sorensen died of natural causes in his Cokeville home Friday, January 5, 2007. He was 11 days from his 71st birthday. Ed was born in Bancroft, Idaho to Andrew Jensen Sorensen and Sarah Helena Welch Sorensen on January 16, 1936. He was the youngest child our of nine siblings; Venla, Helena, Lawrence Jensen, Andrew Jensen, Iola Elodie, Alta Lorraine, Phyllis Hansine, Melvin Earl, and Soren Joseph.
during the Korean War he was in the 171st Airborne Division in the United States Army. He received an honorable discharge and then went to work for the Union Pacific Railroad until retirement. Ed spent many years as a Cokeville volunteer fireman.
Ed married Margaret Ann Christensen on May 19, 1956 and together they had two children, Edwin Andrew Sorensen and Deborah Ann Sorensen Hainer and then later divorced. Ed then married Janice Sparks I"The Love of His Life" in May 1974. After Janice's death, he married Margaret Marie Vandermuss in 1978 and they divorced in 2000.
He enjoyed the great outdoors from fishing, camping, boating and hunting. He loved spending time with all his family. There are many fun memories. He will be missed immensely by family and many friends.
He is proceded in death by parents, seven siblings, son, Andy, and wife Janice and their son Rodvig. He is survived by sister, Alta Lorraine (Pocatello, Id): daughter Debbie (Kent WA); daughter-in-law, Barbara Sorensen (Andy) (Cokeville); step daughter, Jeanette Sparks (Peterson); grandchildren, Tabitha Henderson (Healy), Bob Henderson, Jennie So9rensen (Johnson_, Kathy Henderson, Philip Andrew Sorensen and great grandchildren; Kirina Lee, Oz Joseph, Kysa Christine, Andrew Marcus, Hailey Lynn and Jordan Justice and lots of extended family that will also miss him.
Funeral services will be held at the Cokeville (Cemetery) LDS church at 11 a.m Wednesday, January 10th.
Interment will be in the Cokeville Cemetery.
