Marian Bennion Sparks, 84, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2005 at the Bear Lake Memorial Hospital in Montpelier, Idaho.

Marian was born Nov 17, 1920 in Salt Lake City, the daughter of Orson and Geneve Horn Bennion. She was a life long resident of Cokeville, where she attended school and graduated in 1938.

Marian was a very active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many different positions throughout her life. Her interests included sewing, cooking and singing. She also enjoyed being with her family and loved the times when the family would get together for special occasions.

Marian married Dale D. Sparks on Nov 17, 1938 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They made their home in Cokeville and worked together on ranches in the area. They owned a ranch for many years and later her husband worked for a sheep ranch. This job required them to spend summers in the mountains together.

Marian is survived by a daughter, Kaye Lewis of Montpelier; a granddaughter she raised, Janette (Jason) Peterson of Wichita, Kan., three sons, Roger (Aralee) Sparks of Montpelier; Bennion Sparks of Rock Springs; and John (Debra) Sparks of Cokeville; 12 grandchildren 15 great-grandchildren, three sisters, Gene Miller of Tooele, Utah, Marjorie (Eldon) Bitter of Orem, Utah and Eleanor Spendlove of Sandy, Utah. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale; her parents; one brother, Frank; a daughter Janice and a grandson, Troy.

Funeral services took place on Saturday, March 5, 2005 in the Cokeville LDS Chapel. The interment was in the Cokeville Cemetery.
