RIXFORD, Margery (Brown) Margery (Brown) Rixford, 81, of Buckingham St., Watertown, and Lamoine, ME, died Thursday, (October 7, 2004) at the home of her daughter Deborah. She was the widow of Henry Knight Rixford. Mrs. Rixford was born September 6, 1923 in Gardner, MA, daughter of the late Walter and Maude (Stanley) Brown. She has lived in Watertown since 1959. Mrs. Rixford a longtime member of the First Congregational Church in Watertown, where she served on many committees. She was also active in the community as a volunteer with the Girl Scouts, the YWCA and the women's auxiliary at Waterbury Hospital. She was a knitter, a gardener, and a avid reader. She was never happier then when she was at her camp on Frenchman's Bay in Maine listening to a Red Sox game and watching the seals swim by. Mrs. Rixford was a graduate of Tufts University, and received her masters degree in education, from Central Connecticut State University. She taught 1st 2nd and 4th grades at the Baldwin School in Watertown for 20 years. She leaves two daughters, Penelope Rixford Aglio and her husband Michael of Glastonbury, and Deborah Rixford Osborne and her husband Michael, of Sandy Hook; three grandchildren, Katherine Osborne Munno, Rebecca Osborne Young, and Thomas Michael Aglio and a great granddaughter, Jamison Osborne Munno. Arrangements: Memorial Service will take place October 18, at 11 a.m. at the First Congregational Church, 40 DeForest St., Watertown. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
