Richard (64) of Prescott, Kansas sat back in his recliner alongside his wife of 42 years for a relaxing nap after an enjoyable anniversary morning then drifted off to sleep only to awaken in the arms of our Lord in Heaven on Monday Sept.3, 2012.
The son of Lester and Dolores Hamilton Cummings. He graduated from Sheldon High School in Sheldon, MO. He was a Veteran serving his country with the US Army during the Vietnam War. He married Joyce Perry on September 3, 1970. He was employed with the Linn County Road Crew as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the American Legion Hewitt New Post, the Linn County Fair Board, the V.F.W., the Heritage Union, and the Laborers Union # 1243. Richard was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his wife Joyce of Prescott, his son Bill also of Prescott, his mother of Fort Scott, KS., a brother David of Mound City, KS., and two sisters; Janet White of Parker, KS., and Judy Wilson of Uniontown, KS.

K.C. McFarlane
K.C. McFarlane, a retired corporate real estate executive, entered into eternal rest on Friday (May 27, 2011).
K.C. was a founding member and director of the National Association of Corporate Real Estate Executives (NACORE). For 35 years, he worked and managed real-estate programs with Conoco and Champlin Oil Company, retiring in 1986. K.C. was a member of the Scottish Clans of North Texas and the Champlin Association of Retired Managers.
Having worked for oil companies that moved personnel frequently, K.C. was an active member of six protestant churches in his lifetime. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church for the past 25 years.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lee McFarlane; A son & wife, of Burleson; a daughter, and husband, of Benbrook; 4 grandchildren, a great-grandchild, a brother, of Newton; sisters, 1 of Holten, 1 of Redding, Calif., and 1 of Newton.
He was preceded in death by siblings, Jack McFarlane and Kay Brown.
Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, 1000 Penn St., Fort Worth, Texas.

Eleanor M. Sadowski
Eleanor M. Sadowski HOLTON - Eleanor M. Sadowski, 89, of Holton, died Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at her daughter's home.
She was born November 7, 1928 in Newton, the daughter of Cecil and Velna Cummings McFarlane. She graduated from Newton High School in 1947.
Eleanor was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Holton, the Altar Society at the church, a former member of the Mary Ann Circle, and had sang in the church choir. She had been a Girl Scout and a Boy Scout Leader.
She married Gerald J. "Coach" Sadowski on December 14, 1947 at Newton. He died January 22, 1998.
Eleanor was also preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Meier, a son, Bryan Sadowski, a granddaughter, Jamie Lee Sadowski, three brothers, K.C. McFarlane, Jack McFarlane and Jim McFarlane, and a sister, Katherine Brown.
Survivors include three sons, Gary Sadowski (Mindy) and Tim Sadowski (Linda G.), all of Emporia, and Stan Sadowski (Brenda), Ozawkie; five daughters, Linda Sadowski, Silver Lake, Sandra Sadowski (Max), Topeka, and Marie Katz (Dave), Kathy Morris (Bruce) and Marsha Taylor (Larry), all of Holton; two sisters, Ann Brooks, Newton and Betty Jo Gheen, in California; twenty-one grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 10th at St. Dominic Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery at Holton. Eleanor will lie in state Friday at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Holton where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m., followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Johnson Cancer Research at KSU, and may be sent in care of the funeral home, P.O.
