Virginia M. Furbish, 87, a former Vice President of Personnel for Suburban Savings and Loan in Annandale, VA, and a 50-year resident of the Washington area, died in Springfield, Virginia on August 29, 2011. She was born December 30, 1923 in Manchester, New Hampshire to Edith Electa Leland and Leon Robert Foster and spent her formative years there. In 1945 she married her husband of sixty-two years, C. Gordon Furbish, a career Air Force Officer. Ginny, as she was known to her friends, supported her husband, raised three children and was an active participant in military life wherever they served. She was also very active in the affairs of Saint Alban's Episcopal Church serving as Chairperson on the Altar Guild for many years.
She is survived by a son, Bruce Furbish and his wife Connie of San Antonio, TX; a son, Glenn Furbish and his wife Donna of Severna Park, MD; a daughter, Barbara Fitch and her husband Gary of Reston, VA; a sister Marian Furbish of Deltona, FL; two brothers David Foster of North Truro, MA and Ronnie Foster of Columbus, MS; sister-in-law Phyllis Foster of Palm Harbour, FL; and six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. Albans Episcopal Church, 6800 Columbia Pike on September 9, 2011 at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in the church's memorial grove. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Albans Memorial Fund in her name.

He is survived by his loving wife, Virginia M. Furbish; two sons, Bruce Furbish and his wife Connie, and Glenn Furbish and his wife Donna; one daughter, Barbara Fitch and her husband Gary; six grandchildren, Christine, Toni, David, Jennifer, Daniel, and Matthew; one brother, Gerald Glenwood Furbish and his wife Marion.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday June 14, 2007 at 2 p.m. in the St. Alban's Episcopal Church, 6800 Columbia Pike, Annandale, VA 22003. Burial will be in St. Alban's Memorial Grove. In lieu of flowers, the family prefer contributions be made to Capital Hospice, 6565 Arlington Blvd., Ste. 501, Attn. Development, Falls Church, VA 22042. Arrangements with DEMAINE FUNERAL HOME, Springfield, VA.
