Ruth Centi, 96, formerly of Bigelow Avenue, passed away peacefully Sunday afternoon December 18, 2016 at Wilkinson Residential Healthcare Facility in Amsterdam, NY with her daughter Carol by her side.
Born on March 2, 1920 in Johnstown, NY, she was the daughter of the late Aaron and Hazel Baltch Vosburgh.
Ruth received her education in the Gloversville school system and graduated from Gloversville High School.
Ruth was a homemaker; she was a member of the Amsterdam Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Ruth was meticulous in her home and the way she handled her everyday responsibilities. Her appearance and guidance to whatever needed to be done were performed to the best of her ability. She was a very strong woman of faith; she enjoyed reading her bible, spending time with her loving daughters, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great - great grandchildren and her pets. She also enjoyed crocheting cooking, baking and making others happy.
Her husband, Joseph Centi, passed away on February 15, 2001. Ruth is survived by two daughters, Mary Zack and Carol Zanella (David) of Amsterdam, 9 grandchildren, Joseph (Laurie) Zack, Donna Bryant (Dan), Jennifer Phillips, Kim Messina (Tom), Mandy Sayers (Barry), Jill Townsend, Todd (Cathy) Zanella, Anthony (Bree) Zanella and Chrissy (Kyle) Mabie, 13 great grandchildren, 3 great great-grandchildren. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Ruth was also predeceased by her daughter, Joanne Hill on April 27, 2002, 5 sisters, Marge, Helen, Marion, June and Winifred.
Cremation was held at Park View Crematorium in Schenectady, NY.
