Mr. Gary Noone, 60, of Broadalbin, died Wednesday at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady, after a short illness.
He was born on Sept. 24, 1940 in Amsterdam. Mr. Noone was a 1958 graduate of Johnstown High School.
He served in the Army from 1959 to 1963. He was employed as a plant manager in the textile industry in New York, California and Mississippi. He retired in 1985.
Mr. Noone was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include his wife, the former Loretta Saltsman, whom he married on July 4, 1986
He was predeceased by his father, Earl Noone.
Burial will take place in Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown.
Joseph A. Centi, 84, of Mathias Avenue, Amsterdam, died Thursday morning at St. Mary's Hospital following a brief illness.
Born in Amsterdam on April 18, 1916, he was the son of the late Anthony and Mary Agosta Centi.
Mr. Centi received his education in the Amsterdam school system and was employed as a counselor with a focus on alcoholism.
He was employed by Marcy State Hospital and was instrumental in the development of its alcoholic unit and outpatient clinic in Rome, N.Y. Mr. Centi returned to Amsterdam and worked as a counselor with the Mental Health Clinic and was founder of the DWI Program at Fulton-Montgomery Community College.
After retiring in 1988, he continued to offer advice and support to those in need.
Mr. Centi was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Amsterdam, and a member of Bigelow Weavers Association. He was also a charter member of the Rockton Fish and Game Club.
Mr. Centi is survived by his wife, Ruth E. Vosburgh Centi, to whom he was married in 1941; three daughters, Mary Zack and Carol Zanella, both of Amsterdam, N.Y., and Joanne Hill of Palmetto, FL.; two brothers, Paul Centi of Albany, N.Y., and Gabe Centi of Amsterdam, N.Y.; one sister, Clementine Brumley of Saratoga Springs, N.Y.; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Interment will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
