MARGARET E. KIMBALL FLORES passed away peacefully on Friday, January 20, 2017 at the home in Santa Barbara that she shared with her partner, Mr. Ed Justus. She was 81 years old.
Mrs. Flores was born in Owego, New York, the daughter of Kenneth S. and Sarah Morton Kimball. Her two brothers, Boyce D. and Thomas P. Kimball predeceased her.
She was the first employee from IBM Owego to transfer to IBM Los Angeles in the early 1960's. She was an executive secretary. Years later, when she moved to Santa Barbara, she joined Nobbe Orthopedics where she served as office manager and remained a valued member of their staff for 24 years. After retirement she and the Nobbes enjoyed a close social relationship up to the time of her death.
She was very involved with the Elks Lodge #613 where her late husband, David Flores served as Exalted Ruler and Margaret was First Lady, a position she was proud to hold. She worked closely with David to help Santa Barbara's needy population and made the Elks Lodge #613 a wonderful place. She served as President of the Emblem Club and helped establish several other Emblem Clubs in California. After David's death she became a member of the Lodge and immediately was elected Secretary and served for five years.
She is survived by her daughter, Theresa B. Harris of Henderson, NV; 2 grandsons, John Richard and Jordan Robert Harris; 7 great grandchildren and her sisters, Jane Kimball Allgeier of Cloudcroft, NM and Mary Kimball Dimick of Henderson, NV. Her son Kenneth P, DeBoise predeceased her.

She was loved and respected by many and we have lost a rare gem who was strong and thoughtful and very capable. God Speed Dear Margaret. We will not forget you or your red hair.
A memorial service for Margaret will be held on Saturday, February 18, 11:00 am at the Elks Lodge, 150 N. Kellogg Ave. Arrangements by Welch-Ryce-Haider.
