• Jacob and his brother Ezra served in Captain Benjamin Blaney's Company of Militia. On that day they marched on the alarm to Watertown by order of Col. Gardner. The brothers served one day.^3,4,5
• He married Lydia Paine on 10 April 1781 in Malden, Massachusetts.^1,3
• In 1782 Jacob and Lydia moved to Fitzwilliam, New Hampshire, where they lived the rest of their lives.^1,3
• Jacob was the surveyor of the town of Fitzwilliam when it was granted by Governor Chute as Cheshire, and was moderator, town treasurer and member of the committee which built its church and school. Jacob was one of the leading settlers in Fitzwilliam.³
• In 1804 Jacob's father Ezra deeded him land in Cheshire County. (this date seems incorrect - the year of his death.)⁴
