EARL D. BAIN
The death of Earl D. Bain, 85, occurred Thursday evening, April 3, at the Crescent Manor Nursing home, Bennington, Vt., following a long illness. Funeral services were conducted Monday at the Garrett Funeral home with the Rev. Lewis N. Powell, pastor emeritus of the Bottskill Baptist church, officiating. Interment was in Greenwich cemetery.
Born in the town of Greenwich October 18, 1889, Mr. Bain was the son of the late W. Edward and Ella Cameron Bain. He had been a life resident of Greenwich and was a retired employe of the Stevens and Thompson Paper company.
Mr. Bain was a 60-year member of Ashlar lodge, F.&A.M., and a member of the Bottskill Baptist church where he had been a trustee for many years.
Survivors are his wife, Violet Carswell Bain; three sisters, Mrs. Clarence Kenyon, Mrs. Myrtle McCune and Mrs. Mildred Corcoran, all of Greenwich; a niece, Mrs. Whitfield Owens of Greenwich.
