Marshall Kouf, age 81, of Huron, died Friday, December 3, 2004, at his place of business.
Marshall William Kouf was born on June 3, 1923, to Jake and Grace (Wilber) Kouf at Sheffield, SD. As a youth he moved with his family to Huron where he attended school.
On January 21, 1943, he entered the U.S. Army and served with the 75th Infantry in the European Theater during World War II. He was awarded several service medals, including the Purple Heart for injuries sustained in the Battle of the Bulge, the Combat Infantry Badge, and 3 bronze stars for meritorious service. He was honorably discharged on October 28, 1945.
On September 22, 1946, Marshall married Doris Hopper and they have made their home in Huron since that time.
Marshall worked for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad for 18 years. He established Lincoln Auto Salvage in 1953, and in 1976 opened a companion business, Marko Steel Service Center. Both businesses are now combined as Marko Enterprises Ltd.
He was a member of the William Reeves American Legion Post #7 of Huron, Disabled American Veterans, and the Elks Lodge.
He is survived by his wife Doris Kouf of Huron; 3 sons, Kevin Kouf of Mitchell, Wade Kouf of Huron, and Kent (Sue) Kouf of Huron; 5 grandchildren, Brandie (Robert) Bieker, Heather Kouf, Marshall Wade (Angela) Kouf, Dustin Kouf, and Trent Kouf; 4 great grandchildren, Ti Bieker, Aurora Bieker, Dillon Kouf, and Delaney Kouf; 3 step-grandchildren, Jeff Hanebuth, Jennifer Hanebuth, and Josh Hanebuth; 1 step great grandchild, Kylie Hanebuth; 3 sisters, Eleanor (Maurice) Anderson of Rapid City, Dorothy (Frank) Dave of Irvine, CA, and Veta (Tony) Zarifis of Mission Viejo, CA; and 1 brother, Roger (Lois) Kouf of Watertown.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and 1 great granddaughter, Dacotah Kouf.
Entombment at Restlawn Memory Gardens Mausoleum with Military Rites by the Huron Veterans Council.

Treva A. Hopper, age 79, of 360 20th St. SE, Huron, SD, died Thursday, December 11, 2008, at the Huron Regional Medical Center.
Her funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 16, at the First United Methodist Church in Huron with burial at the Riverside Cemetery, Huron.

Treva Angellis Barnes was born April 25, 1929 to Ellis Robert and Angeline (Eberhard) Barnes at home in Alpena, SD. She attended grade school and high school in Alpena graduating in1947. She was baptized as an infant and attended Alpena Methodist Church until she transferred to First United Methodist Church in Huron in 1948.
Treva married Herbert E. Rohrabaugh, Jr. on April 25, 1948 at the First United Methodist Church in Huron. They owned and operated Royal Radiator Repair and later Royal Distributing Company in Huron. She worked for the Habicht Department Store and Northwestern Public Service before beginning her career with the the Federal Government, starting in February 1948 and retiring in April 1984. The agencies she worked for included the Department of Interior, Department of Agriculture, and the Department of Health and Human Services. After her retirement from federal services, she worked as a Kelly Girl in various positions in Rapid City for seven years.
Treva married Lyle J. Hopper in 1974 and they were later divorced. She moved to Rapid City, SD on August 1979, and completed her federal service there. She joined the Methodist Church in Rapid City and after retirement was a volunteer in the church office. Treva returned to Huron in June 1991 due to the failing health of her parents.
Treva was reinstated as a member of the First United Methodist Church in Huron, and served on various committees, was a United Methodist Women member, and served the church in many ways. She was a member of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association and the Retired Senior Volunteer Program in both Rapid City and Huron. Treva enjoyed working crossword puzzles, crocheting, baking, and corresponding with many people. She also had a great love for dogs.
She is survived by her 3 nieces, Michelle Sexton, Huron, SD, Sheila Phillips, Pueblo, CO, and Jeanie Allerdings, Huron, SD; a nephew, Timothy Sexton, Ft. Morgan, CO; a grand nephew, Matthew Fischgrabe, Montevideo, MN; 3 grand nieces, Shelby Phillips, Pueblo, CO, and Katelyn and Halee Allerdings, Huron, SD; and five step-children.
Treva was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Trela Sexton; ex-husband, Herbert (Ed) Rohrabaugh, Jr.: and brother-in-law, Robert Sexton.
Ronald Norman Jorgensen was born on March 8, 1931 in Huron, South Dakota to parents Anton M. and Ebba F. (Carlson) Jorgensen. He attended Huron schools, graduating from Huron High School in 1949. Ron joined the United States Air Force on December 19, 1951 and proudly served during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on December 1, 1955, achieving the rank of Staff Sargent. Ron received the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
On April 8, 1951, Ron married Beverly Jo Ann Hopper at First United Methodist Church in Huron. Ron and Beverly lived in several places throughout the United States. Ron was Supervisor of Foreign Sales for Armour and Co. for 38 years. They lived in Ypsilanti, Michigan; North Platte, NE; St. Joseph, MO, Norfolk, NE; Memphis, TN; Phoenix, AZ; Woodbury, MN; then returned to Huron. Ron worked full and part time at UBC before fully retiring in 1993.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sons, a stillborn infant and a grown son, Kim Ronald Jorgensen (38 years old), brother Roy Jorgensen, sisters June Durst and Doris Kouf, and brother in-law, Lynn Hopper.
