Dorothy "Dottie" A. Wolfley, age 86 of Beavercreek, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2016. She was born in Detroit, MI to the late Mr. and Mrs. Woerner. After graduating high school in Indianapolis, she married John W. Wolfley, who later went on to serve in the United States Army during the Korean War.
Dorothy retired from Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville, OH after many years as a laboratory technician. While living in Zanesville, she and her husband enjoyed playing bridge and won many tournaments doing so. Dorothy was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Wolfley in 2009 and brother, Delmarr Woerner.
Dorothy leaves behind to cherish her memory, 2 children, John Steven "Steve" (Myra) Wolfley and Kathryn "Kitty" (T.L.) Drake; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and many other loving relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 from 6pm-8pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - Beavercreek Chapel. Funeral Service to take place on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at 1pm.
Private family interment to follow at later date at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis, IN.

Carol Lorraine Sipf was born on May 25, 1932, the first child of Arthur and Ruth Sipf. She was soon joined by siblings Vernon and Phyllis. During World War II, the family lived in Junction City, Kansas. After Arthur Sipf was discharged from the Army, they moved back to Indianapolis, settling in the Riverside neighborhood. Two more siblings, John and Eric were added to the Sipf family.
Mom attended Shortridge High School and attended Riverside United Methodist Church. At church, she met members of the Wolfley family. In particular, she met Richard Wolfley. Four months after graduation from high school, they were married at Riverside UMC on September 30, 1950.
The young couple soon became a young family. David was first, then Becky, Mike, and Paul. In 1958, they moved to the growing west side of Marion County, buying a house for $13,000 in Farley Addition. One more child would arrive, Jim, as they settled in to the home where they lived for 26 years.
They became members at the newly established Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. Mom ensured her kids were confirmed in the church and brought up to be responsible and respectful. She loved celebrating birthdays and holidays. In her senior years, she became a member of Hilltoppers and C.H.U.M.S. and went on many outings with her church family. The highlight was a trip to England, in 1998, to trace the journey of John Wesley. She also served as a volunteer church secretary for many years, a job she enjoyed immensely.
Mom was active in the community as a Den mother and with the Order of the Eastern Star. She served as Worthy Matron in the Cartersburg, Indiana chapter. She maintained her membership until her passing, nearly 70 years.
Her greatest joy was children. She was quick to tell you how many grandchildren she had, their names and when they were born. This was no small task as there were 14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Mom loved to read, newspapers, magazines and especially romance novels. She picked up many hobbies over the years: latch hook rugs, ceramic figurines, and most interesting, belly dancing. She also loved to collect souvenirs from the many places she traveled.
She will be missed by her children David (wife Shirley, deceased), Becky (husband Dan Funkhouser), Mike (wife Karen), Paul (wife Debbie) and Jim (wife Debbie).
