Alice Edith Blevin Trees, 95, of Pensacola has left this mortal Earth and rejoined her husband, Marion; her daughter, Barbara Ann; 12 brothers and sisters leaving to rejoice in her freedom on Saturday, February 28, 2015. Born to the late William and Alice H (nee: Yarnall) Blevin on April 17, 1919 in Philadelphia, PA. She was raised in Cape May, NJ and stayed there until a certain Marine marksmanship instructor, detailed to the Coast Guard training station, walked into the soda fountain where she worked and didn't run fast enough to get away. She married on June 28, 1941, in Elkton, Maryland and became a Marine wife just in time for the WWII. One war, two children, and a military retirement later, the family moved to Pensacola in 1951, settling in Myrtle Grove in 1953. Alice was active in the Myrtle Grove Women's Club, becoming a fixture with the Antique Show at the Pensacola Interstate Fair for many years. Propagation of azaleas and camellias, as well as knitting and crocheting were her forte. She is survived by her loving son, Marion, Jr. "Coyote"; three grandsons, nine great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, 619 New Warrington Road, Pensacola. Services are private. Veronica, age 69, of Whitewater, WI, passed away Monday at the Select Specialty Hospital. Veronica was born in Indianapolis the daughter of Herbert & Julia (Neukom) Trees. She graduated from Anderson High School in Anderson, IN, in 1957, and she received a Bachelors Degree in Education from Indiana University in 1961. She taught Art for 35 years at Jackson Junior High School in Villa Park, IL. On July 15, 1989, Veronica married James Davis in Villa Park, IL. Veronica was an artist, working primarily with watercolors and pen and ink. Her artwork has been recognized with awards at both the state and local levels. She was also a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ, The Whitewater Arts Alliance, the Red Hat Society of Whitewater, Florence Basset, and Delta Zeta Sorority. Spending time with her grandchildren was one of her greatest joys. She loved to take them shopping, to attend their activities, and to have special one-on-one time with each of them. Surviving are her husband, James Davis, of Whitewater, WI; two daughters, Melissa (Douglas) Burmeister of Monticello, IN, and Stephanie Luengen of Elkhorn, WI; son, Shawn (Susan) Girtz of Twin Lakes, WI; grandchildren: Samantha and Julia Girtz, Trisha Luengen and Nicolaus Burmeister; brother, Craig (Dianne) Trees of Anderson, IN; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and one great-nephew. Veronica was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Emily Trees. Visitation was held at the Congregational United Church of Christ, Whitewater, services followed.
