Donald "Jack" Dunn, 67, of West Jordan, UT, passed away at his home on December 3, 2022. He was the proud "Pa" of 13 grandchildren. Born Sep. 29, 1955, the long-awaited firstborn child of Donald James and Betty Brinton Dunn.
A graduate of Murray High School in 1974, it was there he met Melody Young, whom he married in 1977 (later divorced).
As an avid lover of music, especially classical and the symphony, and a talented pianist, Jack pursued his passion at the University of Utah, obtaining an undergraduate degree in Music, followed by a Master's Degree in Choral Conducting. He spent many years as an adjunct professor at Salt Lake Community College sharing his love of music. He continued to advance his education, earning a second Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Utah, ensuing his career as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. He generously shared his therapy and hypnosis skills to comfort many in their challenging times.
Jack faithfully served in many callings in the LDS church, including a two-year mission to Montana, as a young bishop of the Murray 21st Ward, and was an Eagle Scout actively involved in the scouting program. He had a strong testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and expressed it often.
Preceded in death by his parents and brother, Linn Dunn. Survived by his 3 children: Angela Dawn, Donald James, Eric Lowell, and their mother Melody. Daughters-in-law Kayleen Dunn and Stephanie Dunn. Son-in-law Chad Koon. Brother Robert and sister-in-law Randi Dunn.
