Robert Potter

Biography

• Robert Potter was born about 1609.¹
• He married Isabel (née unknown) Potter in 1630 in Boston, Massachusetts.^2,3
• Robert Potter and Isabell Potter, his wife, were admitted to the Roxbury church as Members #109 and #110.⁴
• He immigrated in 1634 his first residence being Roxbury MA.⁵
• Robert was admitted freeman on 3 September 1634 in Roxbury, Massachusetts.¹
• In September 1643 Robert lived in Warrick, Rhode Island.
• On 3 November 1643 he and others were charged with heresy and sedition and brought before the General Court. Robert was sentenced to Prison at Rowley MA. He was released in Mar 1644, but banished from Warwick and from Massachusetts.
• Robert married Sarah (Potter). Sarah next married in Boston, MA, 19 Feb 1656/57 John Sanford.⁶
• He was liscenced to keep an Inn.
• In 1651 he was a Commissioner.
• He died in 1655 at age ~46.
