Nick was retiring, he had owned a luncheonette, and wanted to go back to Cyprus. She was in her early 50s when she married. They sold the restaurant, and moved to Cyprus and married. His parents were still alive. They did not like her. She wanted to adopt Christopher as her own son because she was so old she could not have a son. She adopted Alexia. She inherited land from the (Haji)popolous, and from Nick's family.1

There was a big explosion in the mines, and Giro then decided to do as his wife wanted, and they moved to Patterson, NJ. After a time he brought his mother over and the other boys from Italy. He bought a house for them in Hawthorne (Patterson) NJ.1
