Algernon Coleman was born on 9 August 1876 in Bew Ferry, Virginia.^2,3
Father: Henry Embry Coleman (b 1845) - Mother: Sally Chalmers Crump (b 1858.)³
Algernon married Mary Boggs Gude, daughter of Albert Valentine Gude and Mary Denny Boggs, on 23 December 1913.¹
Algernon and Mary moved to 5712 Dorchester Ave, Chicago, Illinois.¹
On 12 September 1924 Algernon, his wife Mary & daughter Mary (age 9) and a niece (probaly) Eugenia (age 14) returned home to the USA, arriing in New York on the ship SS France, which sailed from Le Havre 6 days earlier.⁴
His wife Mary died on 6 December 1928 leaving him a widower at age 52 .⁵
He appeared on the 1930 US Federal Census of 5712 Dorchester Av, Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, enumerated on 14 April 1930. He owns his home with a reported value of $4,000.⁶
On 24 September 1932 Algernon and his daughter Mary returned to the US, sailing from Cherbourg France, and arriving at the port of Quebec. They then crossed into the US via St Albans.⁷
He died on 8 August 1939 in Chicago, Illinois, at age 62.⁸
He was buried in Grace Episcopal Church Cemetery, News Ferry, Virginia.³
An obituary was published in The Times Dispatch, Richmond, Virginia, on 12 August 1939.⁸

Thomas Ingersoll was born about 1593 in Derby, Derbyshire, England.¹
Thomas married Margery Eaton, daughter of John Eaton and Isabel Hudson, on 15 December 1620 in Stepney, Middlesex, England.¹
It appears that Thomas Ingersoll moved from Derby to the Greater London area, where he became a ropemaker in Stepney. Around 1625, he returned to Derby, where he was a shoemaker and the town crier. A town crier was not the figure of legend who called out the hours throughout the night. He was instead a paid town official who made official announcements at specified times to a populace that was still largely illiterate. The Derby rental rolls include yearly payments by the borough...." 1.²
Thomas Ingersoll died in May 1681 in Derby, Derbyshire, England, at age ~88.¹
