Marshall T. Howland, son of Thomas, was born May 20, 1840, married Jane O., daughter of Benjamin Stevens, Nov. 24, 1863, and settled in Hubbardton, but afterwards removed to Poultney. On the 8th of September, 1866, he and his father, Thomas Howland, purchased of John S. Ray the Waters farm, in Whipple Hollow. In the spring of 1869, Marshall T. bought his father's share of the farm and has since occupied it.

I have to wonder if he is interred here. But he does have a footstone with BTH. His exwife is buried in Ohio although her name and birth date is on this stone. Son, Wendell has a name and birth date on this stone but he is buried in Williamstown, MA. 2 daughters are on this stone with birth and death dates."

Rev. Martin Luther D'Ooge, LL.D, eldest known child of Leonard D'Ooge and Johanna Quintus, b. July 17, 1839 at Zonnemaire in the Province of Zeeland, the Netherlands. On Sept. 28, 1847 at 8 years of age via the ship Robert Parker, Martin (Maarten) arrived in America with his parents and younger siblings through the port of New York. By 1850 the D'Ooge family was residing at Ravenna, Michigan where Martin's father was a farmer eventually settling permanently at Grand Rapids, Michigan where Leonard D'Ooge was a grocery dealer and later a real estate broker.
An 1862 graduate of the University of Michigan, on July 31, 1873 at Auburndale (Newton), Mass. Martin was married by his to-be father-in-law to Mary Worcester, youngest child of Isaac Redington Worcester and Mary Sophia Sargent, b. Mar. 2, 1849 at Leicester, Mass. Mary's father subsequently built as a wedding present the house at 1523 Washtenaw Avenue at Ann Arbor that Martin and Mary would reside until their deaths.
In 1878 Martin was ordained a minister of the Congregational Church, thus by marriage became an extended member of the Worcester family that boasted many ancestral ministers of the Congregational and Presbyterian churches. In 1872 Martin received the degree of Ph.D. from the University of Leipzig; in 1889 the degree of LL.D. from the University of Michigan; and in 1901 the degree of D.Litt. from Rutgers College. Doctor D'Ooge was president of the American Philological Association, 1883-1884 and director of the American School of Classical Studies, Athens, 1886-1887. He was a member of the American Philological Society and member of the American Institute of Archeology. For four years he was a member of the Board of Education of Ann Arbor.
Rev. D'Ooge d. Sept. 12, 1915 at Ann Arbor, Michigan as Professor Emeritus of Greek and retired longstanding Dean of the University of Michigan's Department of Literature, Science and Arts. Mary (Worcester) D'Ooge d. at Ann Arbor Nov. 30, 1846. They had no children.
