Dana W. Burditt, youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. H. O. Burditt, long residents of Rumford, passed away at the Baker Memorial Hospital, Boston, Friday June 17 [no date given, but maybe 1949].
He was born in Andover September 8, 1888, coming to Rumford with his parents to live when he was 12 years of age. He graduated from Rumford high school in the class of 1907. After graduation he worked in his father's grocery store under Hotel mford, Congress Street, going to Massachusetts later. He was associated with his brother-in-law H E Dix in the stationery business in Boston, later conducting a wholesale stationery business for himself.
He married Esther Enslin February 24, 1917 at Ashland, Mass, and has made his home there since. To them were born two daughters, Barbara and Katherine. Their oldest daughter Barbara died October 22, 1946. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Esther Burditt of Ashland, a daughter, Mrs. Clyde Christman, nee Katherine, of Cambridge, Mass; three sisters, Mrs. Charles Howe, Rumford, Mrs. Wesley S Goodwin, Greenwood, Mass, nee Ella Burditt and Mrs. Hey E Dix, nee Oriesa Burditt of Stoneham, Mass; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 20 in Ashland, Mass.
