Christel June Richardson
1921 ~ 2013
Christel June Richardson, 91, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at her home in Boise. Christel, a homemaker, was born June 12, 1921 in Dayton, Waupaca Co., Wisconsin. She was the youngest of five children of Frank S. and Lida Radley Nourse. She received her early education in the Crystal Lake School in Dayton, WI. After graduation from Waupaca High School, she attended Teachers College in Wautoma, WI.
She taught in the rural one room schools in Waupaca Co. for three years. In 1944, she enlisted in the WAVES of the United States Naval Reserve and received her Navy training at Hunter College in New York City. She was trained as a Navy U.S. Postal Worker and was assigned to the Navy Fleet Post Office in San Francisco, CA. It was there that she met Max Richardson, a Chief Storekeeper of the U.S. Naval Reserves. They were married on August 16, 1945, two days after the end of World War II. They continued to live in southern California for twenty-five years where their four children were born. In 1970, the family moved to Boise.
Christel was a faithful church worker and held many responsible positions after her baptism in 1952.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Max, in Nov. 2005; son, Burt, in 2008; her parents; two brothers, Harold and Wayne; and sisters, Irene and Beulah.
She is survived by one son, James (Kathi) Richardson of Boise; daughters, Kathy (Don) Schott of Boise and Candice (Marshall) Adams of Olympia, WA; nine grandchildren, Kayleen LaBarge, Todd Parsons, Daniel, Katie, Joyce, and Jeffrey Richardson, Kai, Austin, and Shelby Adams; two great grandsons, Tyler and Tanner LaBarge; and cherished caregiver Nicole Hopstaken.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at the Eagle and Lake Hazel LDS Chapel, 6575 S. Eagle Rd., Meridian. Bishop Fujimoto of the Meridian 16th Ward will officiate. A viewing will be held on Friday, June 14th, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Relyea Funeral Chapel, and on Saturday from 10:00-10:45 prior to the services at the church.
Interment will be at the Idaho State Veteran's Cemetery.

Fannie S. Boyd (nee Strick), 86 of St. Petersburg, FL, formerly of Maple Glen, PA, passed away Thursday, March 18, 2010 at the Bradley Bay Health Center, Bay Village, OH. Mrs. Boyd was born August 2, 1923 in Roulette, PA and had lived in St. Petersburg, FL the past 30 years.
Mrs. Boyd was a 1941 graduate of Coudersport High School in Pennsylvania and earned her nursing degree from the Williamsport Pennsylvania School of Nursing. Upon completion of nursing school she began her career as a private duty nurse, also working at Coudersport Hospital and Abington Hospital, outside of Philadelphia. In St. Petersburg she continued her career as a nurse to Dr. Douglas Hood and completed her nursing career at the age of 85 with the Suncoast Hospice, where she worked for the past 19 years. Fannie was devoted to caring for those at the end of their lives. Fannie was well-renowned for her energy and enthusiasm. The past seven years she battled cancer twice, while returning to her beloved nursing each time.
While living in Maple Glen, PA, Mrs. Boyd was a member of the Supplee Memorial Church and in Florida, The Pass- A-Grille Beach Community Church, St. Pete Beach. In addition she was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Eulalia Chapter, Coudersport, PA. Mrs. Boyd was described by her family as one who loved being a nurse as evident by her 65 year career. She also very much enjoyed traveling.
Mrs. Boyd is survived by daughter Betsy McKinney (Roger) of Bay Village and son David Boyd (Debbie) of Acworth, GA; grandchildren Davis (Laura), Stuart and Claire McKinney and Andrew and Elizabeth Boyd. She is also survived by her former husband Henry Boyd. She is preceded in death by her parents Clair and Josephine (nee Conrad) Strick.
A memorial service will be held at the Pass-A-Grille Community Church, St. Pete Beach, FL, on Saturday April 10th, 2010 at 10am.

Feb. 1 marks the one-year anniv. of the death of Henry Foland Boyd, 2 wks short of his 85th birthday. His dtr Elizabeth (Betsy) Ann Boyd McKinney was by his side at the memory care facility in Westlake, Ohio, near her home. A memorial service was held 6/15/12 , Ft. Logan Nat'l Cemetery, Denver, CO, where his sister, Mary Jane Boyd Bradt, and brother-in-law Albert Bradt, are also interred. He is survived by dtr, Elizabeth, Bay Village, OH; son David James Boyd, Acworth, GA; grandchildren: Davis (Cincinnati, OH), Stuart (Twinsburg, OH), and Claire McKinney, (Lakewood, OH); and Andrew (Atlanta, GA) and Elizabeth Boyd, (Acworth, GA); brother David Jackson Boyd, Louisville, CO; and 6 nieces and nephews. He was married for many yrs to the late Fannie Louise Strick. He was preceded in death by mother Mary Wadsworth Marquis Boyd, father Estes Jackson Boyd, Longmont, CO; brother Howard Marquis Boyd; and sister Mary Jane, Aurora, CO. He resided in FL for 30 yrs (St. Petersburg, Port Orange, and Holly Hill) before moving to OH, Oct. 2011. A graduate of PA State Univ., he was employed as an engineer at Aircraft Porous Media, Pinellas Park, FL until his retirement. Before his move to FL, he and his family lived in the Philadelphia area: Croydon, Elkins Park, and Maple Glen. He was born in New Brighton (2/14/27), graduating from New Brighton High School. A Navy World War II veteran, boating enthusiast, and amateur photographer, he was also an avid genealogist, with membership in Sons of the American Revolution, original House of Boyd Society, and Clan Boyd. Henry will be remembered as a Scottish bagpiper willing to share his talent and love of pipe music in many venues, including the Volusia Co. Genealogical Society, St. Petersburg (FL) International Folkfair, and Stone Mountain (GA) and Grandfather Mountain (NC) Highland Games.
