William J Horton to Be Buried at Fairview Cemetery
Funeral services over the remains of William J Horton, of 1015 Connor avenue, who died at 10:15 o'clock Tuesday night, will be held at the residence at 2:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon. Interment will be at Fairview cemetery.
Mr Horton for years was in the barber business in Joplin. He was a member of the Red Men's lodge.
He is survived by a wodow and ten children. They are: Miss Nola Horton of Oakland; Oscar, Tom, Will, Ina, Hazel, Eva and Iva Horton, and Mrs. James True and Mrs Will White, all of Joplin.
Funeral services will be held at the Alma Lehmeyer funeral home Wednesday morning at 10:30 o'clock for Mrs. Ellena Richardson, 74, who operated the Donovan hotel of 420 1/2 South Jefferson Avenue. She was the widow of V.F. Richardson, who had operated the hotel before his death.
She is survived by a son, Pleas Richardson of Carthage, Mo., and grandchildren, Fred Richardson of Aurora, MO., Mrs Raymond Jenkins of Carthage, Mo., Josephine, Elizabeth, Dorothy and Bert Richardson of Springfield.
Dr. C. Emersen Miller of the South Avenue Christian Church will be the officiating minister. Burial will be made in the cemetery at Avilla, Mo.
Matron of Honcut Has Passed Away
Honcut, July 2 -- Emily May Horton, wife of Dr. T.W. Horton, of Honcut, passed away at the Rideout Hospital in Marysville Saturday morning after an illness of only a few days duration. Deceased was a native of Texas, and would have been 51 years of age on the 20th day of next October. She was well known in the Honcut district where she had resided for many years, making many friends by her motherly ways and kind disposition.
By the death of Mrs. Horton a large number of relatives are left to mourn her calling. She was the mother of Roscoe and Ray Mitchell, Mrs. Bertha Walker, Mrs. Ethel Keith and Mrs. Minnie Howe. She also leaves two brothers, Monroe and Hugh Armstrong of Honcut and one sister, Mrs. Mary Schneider.
The remains are at the mortuary chapel of Kelley Brothers in Marysville, from where they will be forwarded to Honcut this evening. Interment will be made in the cemetery at Gridley, Monday.
Perry F. Horton, 86, died this morning (March 16, 1964) at his home, 227 Leonard St., where he had resided four years. He was born March 14, 1877 in Aurora, Mo.
Surviving are two sons, L.H. Horton, Bellflower, Calif., and C.P. Horton, Grants Pass; five grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Arrangements are pending at Hull and Hull Chapel.
