Private funeral services were held at Fiss &; Bills funeral home Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, followed by services at the grave at Riverside cemetery for Sgt. Robert E. DeWiU, 21, son of Mr. and Mrs. O. E. DeWitt, 204 Jefferson avenue. The Rev. James A. Daum officiated and the ritual of the Veterans of Foreign Wars organization was performed by the local Florian Lamport post, members of which acted as pallbearers.
The firing squad and color-bearers consisted of William Zie genhagen, James Pollnow, Chester Malloy, Joseph Smick, A. H. Fischer, George Pasicka, and T. H. Poulus.
Sergeant DeWitt who was at Pearl Harbor and who had served two and a half years in the south Pacific, died early this week at the post hospital at. Olmsted Field, Middleton, PA., of injuries received when he was struck by a truck while standing with his motorcycle at the side of the road near the camp.
Present at the services with the Immediate family .were e brother, Donald DeWitt, of Independence, Mo. three. sisters, Mr. J. H. PeKarha of Austin, Minn., Miss Gretchen DeWitt and Mrs. Darre L. Jensen, all of Milwaukee, and as military escort Sgt John Leach of Olmsted Field, whose record had closely paralleled that of the deceased.
According to Information received by the family Sergeant De- Witt was slated for more ooversees duty in about two weeks.

Gretchen DeWitt, 68, Omro, died Wednesday afternoon in Mercy Medical Center, Oshkosh. She was born Nov. 9, 1912, in Wisconsin Dells, the daughter of the Rev. O.E. and Edith DeWitt.
Miss DeWitt, a librarian who moved to Omro from Ohio four years ago, was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Omro Women's Service League.
Surviving is one sister, Phyllis Jensen, Milwaukee. Services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. in Fiss and Bills Funeral Home, Oshkosh, the Rev. Gilbert O. Halverson officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Oshkosh. Friends may call at the funeral home today from 5 to 8 p.m.

Phyllis J. Jensen, 72, Oshkosh, passed away Sunday, April 26, 1992, at her home. She was born on July 5, 1919, in Kilbourn, the daughter of Oliver E. and Edith Hanks DeWitt.
Phyllis worked for the Internal Revenue Service in Milwaukee as a taxpayer service representative. She retired in 1978 after 35 years of service.
She is survived by a daughter, Barbara (Richard) Shew of Oshkosh; three grandchildren, Timothy Shew of Oshkosh, Kathleen (Steven) Stiller of Brownsville, and Sarah (Paul) Boegh of Oshkosh; four greatgrandchildren, Tiffany, Ray and Savanna Stiller and Branden Boegh; one nephew; and three nieces. Phyllis is also survived by a special friend, Mary Ellen Regan of Oshkosh.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Oliver Carroll, Robert and Donald; two sisters, Betty PeKarna and Gretchen DeWitt; and a grandson, Michael Shew.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Christ Lutheran Church, with the Rev. C. Richard Becker officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services Wednesday at the church. A memorial has been established.
