Nancie M. Stahl was born on November 22, 1929 in Jackson, Michigan, the daughter of the late Warren and Muriel Sargent and stepfather Earl Wright, and passed away October 30, 2015 at the age of 85. Nancie was raised in the Lansing area and graduated from Resurrection High School.
She and her husband Charles were also married at the Church of the Resurrection. They then took up residency in East Lansing in 1978 and became long time members of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Nancie had many interest and hobbies of which sewing, quilting, reading and letter writing were her favorites. She also had a true appreciation for music of all kind. Her greatest joy came from spending time with family and friends.
Nancie is preceded in death by her parents and son, Joseph. Surviving to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 67 years, Charles; children, Mary (Tony) Schmitt, Jeanne (David) Peer-Decker, Nancie “Betsy” (Lonny) Kinder, Margaret Estes, Katherine Stahl, Julia (George) Hernandez, C. Michael Stahl and John Stahl. Nancie also leaves 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren to cherish her memory.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 955 Alton, East Lansing, MI. The family will receive friends from 5:00~8:00 PM on Monday, November 2nd at Gorsline Runciman, East Lansing chapel with scripture at 7:00 PM and 1 hour prior to the funeral mass at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Nancie to Hospice of Lansing, 4052 Legacy Parkway, Suite 200, Lansing, MI 48911.
