Arnold (Lee) Messenger, age 82, died Monday, January 28, 2013 at his home in Garden City, Kansas. He was born on August 8, 1930 in Eads, Colorado the son of Arno and Blanche Brown Messenger. Lee served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. A resident of Garden City since 1978 he had been a farmer and real estate agent.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Dighton, Kansas. He also belonged to the Sierra Club, Kansas Farm Bureau, the Finney County Tax Payers Association, and Americans For Prosperity. He enjoyed playing cards and watching and reading westerns.
On June 24, 1951 he married Betty Smith in Scott City, Kansas. She survives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, One Brother, Harry Messenger, One Sister, Glenda Burgess and his Step-Mother, Ruth Uzzell.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas with Rev. David Bell presiding.
Friends may call from 10:00am-8:00pm on Friday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas.
Interment will be held at 2:30pm on Saturday in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.
Memorials may be given to the United Methodist Church in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City, Kansas.
Betty Elaine Messenger, 87, died on Saturday September 5, 2020 at her home in Garden City. She was born on May 20, 1933 at Scott City the daughter of Devere Augustus & Florence Alice (Beeman) Smith. She married Arnold Lee Messenger on June 24, 1951 at Scott City. He died on January 28, 2013.
Betty graduated from Scott City High School in 1951. She worked alongside her husband ranching, farming, and in various businesses in the Dighton area before moving to Garden City in 1979 where she pursued a degree in nursing. She worked at St Catherine Hospital as a Registered Nurse until her retirement in 1998. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, volunteered at Garden Valley Retirement Village and was a member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed regularly playing cards with friends, participating in water aerobics at the YMCA, reading, cultivating her garden and keeping in touch with other nurses, classmates and friends.
She is survived by her 3 Children- Evan Shane (Tori) Messenger of Columbia, Missouri, Tanya Leigh Thayer of Lander, Wyoming and Tara Lynne (Mark) Boaldin of Garden City, 10 Grandchildren and 13 Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Brother- Col. JD Smith, Sister- Violet Lamb, Grandson- Trevor Messenger and Niece- Betty Irene Lamb.
Graveside Service will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 19 at Scott County Cemetery in Scott City. Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church or St Catherine Hospice in care of Garnand Funeral Home. Condolences may be posted at www.garnandfuneralhomes.com

Webster-Entered into rest Sunday, Apr. 20, 1952, Elsie Smith Webster, age 64 years, of Parma, N.Y. She is survived by her husband, Ernest Webster; four daughters, Mrs. Harry Gosnell, Mrs. Merton Wohlers, Mrs. Leland Masters, Miss Avis Webster; nine sons, Gerald, Earl, Claude, LaVerne, Fay, Howard, Lloyd, Russell and Raymond Webster; 19 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; her stepmother, Mrs. Mary Smith of Rochester; three sisters and one brother, Mrs. David Bronson of Hilton, Mrs. Frank Adamson of Fairport, Mrs. Lester Rapp and Lloyd Smith, both of Rochester; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral for Mable L. Adler, 92-year-old former Enid, Okla., resident, is 2 p.m. today, Sept. 27, 2014, at Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Gail Edmison will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Mable was born Oct. 20, 1921, in Ringwood, Okla., to Ed and Cora (Srader) Haley and died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2014, at Sumner Regional Medical Center, Wellington, Kan. She attended school in Ringwood and graduated with the class of 1939. She attended school in Ringwood and graduated with the class of 1939. On June 23, 1944, she married Charles Adler in Oakland, Calif. Mable was a welder in the Navy shipyards, helping with the war effort. She and her sister also were riveters in Seattle during the war. When the war was over she and Charles moved to Enid, where she was a supervisor at NORCE (then Enid State School) for nearly 30 years. After her retirement, she cared for the elderly, either in the nursing home or in their home. She was a life-long caregiver. She is survived by her sons, Bill Adler and wife Debbie of Putnam City, Okla., and Larry Adler and wife Jeannie of Mulvane, Kan.; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three sisters, Elsie Hicks, Effie Eck and Shirley Hays; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
