LYNN -- Mrs. Mary J. (Chandler) Brackett, age 84, of Lynn, died peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 10, 2017, at her home, surrounded by her loving family, following a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of Raymond L. Brackett Jr., with whom she shared 66 years of marriage. Born In Lynn in 1933, she was the daughter of the late John and Winifred Chandler. She was raised and educated in Lynn and graduated from Lynn English High School, Class of 1951. Mary worked as a cook in the Lynn Public Schools for over 30 years, having spent the majority of those years at Lynn Classical High School. She was a member of Local 1736 and was always respected by the students she cared for. Mary always made sure that her school kids were well fed and provided for. Mary enjoyed dancing, playing cards and her frequent trips to Foxwoods, Mohegan Sun, and Atlantic City Mary loved to cook and care not only for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, but will be fondly remembered for always including their friends at meals and family events. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her husband Raymond Jr., Mary was the mother Raymond Brackett III and his companion Dawn Spencer of Groton, John Brackett and his wife Debra of Peabody, and Amy Germain and her late husband Paul of Lynn, her late son Scott Brackett, who passed away on the same day as his mother after being stricken suddenly at home, and his wife Laurie of Lynn; loving grandmother of Heidi Ottowitz and her husband Pete, Christy DiCologero and her husband Matt, Lindsey Dorman and her husband Matt, Raymond Bracket IV, Stacy Spencer Cataldo and her husband Joe, Ryan Brackett and his wife Jackie , Jacob Brackett, Kacie, Paul, Jessica Germain, Ryan Freeman, and Amber Oliver and her companion Lasana Harper, and great grandchildren, Rhys, Jack, Kate, Ariana, Ryan Jr., D.J. and Auriel. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and other close family and friends. She was the sister of the late John and Joseph Chandler. Service information: A memorial service for Mary and her son Scott will be held on Friday, Sept. 15, 2017, at 7 p.m. in the Solimine Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Route 129), Lynn, MA. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Memorial visitation will be held on Friday from 4-7 p.m., prior to the Memorial Service.
