Sharon Leigh Comfort, age 77, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Guthrie Corning Hospital. She was born on August 1, 1945 in Elmira, the daughter of the late Harry E. and Mable E. (Schultz) Sturdevant. She married David B. Comfort Sr on December 31, 1991. He predeceased her on December 29, 2020.
She is survived by her sister, Elaine (Ralph Chirico) Repoza, children, Roger (Lisa) Hickok, Christopher (Laura Ball) Hickok, and Angela (Eric) Stull, stepson, Dustin L. Comfort, six grandchildren, one great-grandson, and her life long friend, Sally Padgett. Along with her parents and husband, Sharon was predeceased by her son, Bart Eric Hickok and her stepson, David B. Comfort, Jr.
Sharon loved her family and friends and she cherished the time she spent with them. She attended Corning Free Academy, loved to knit and loved animals, Sharon was also a communicant of All Saints Parish.
It was Sharon's wish that there be no visitation or formal services. Sharon will be interred with her late husband at St. Mary's Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather at the graveside on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 10:00 am.
