Mrs. Mary E. Tanner Dies.
The death of Mary E. St. John Tanner, 86, widow of William A. Tanner of Sennett, occurred today at her home in that village. She has always been a resident of Sennett and was a communicant of the Baptist Church.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Robert Scott of Sennett, Mrs. Philip Dale of Winter Park, Florida and Mrs. Roland Spingler of Sennett;.two sons, Edwin C. of California and William S.. of Sennett, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral servicer will be held from the home of her daughter, Mrs.Roland Spingler of Sennett on Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Burial will be in the Sennett Cemetery.2

Elsie G.Smith

Mrs. Elsie Grant Smith of RD6, Auburn New York died September 25, 1981 at Auburn Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. Born in the Town of Sennett she lived in the Sennett area all her life. Her husband, John E. Smith died in 1973.

She was Town Historian for the Town of Sennett for several years, a member of the Sennett Federated Church and its Fidelity Society. Mrs. Smith was the Church Clerk for several years. She also was a member of the Old Brutus Historical Society.

She is survived by a son, Mr Philip Smith of Lowville; three daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Harriett) Surdam of Weedsport, Mrs. Bernard (Hilda) Beyor and

Mrs. Russell (Sylvia) Wilson, both of Sennett; a brother, William H.Grant of Winter Park, Florida; 15 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 29,1981 at 2 p.m. at the Jewell-Moore Funeral Home, 8886 South Seneca Street, Weedsport with the Rev.

Roy Massecar and Rev. Marion Massecar officiating. Burial in Soule Cemetery. Auburn. Family will receive friends Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral

home. Contributions may be made to the Sennett Federated Church Organ Memorial Fund. Jewell-Moore F.H.2

Grant, William Henry

Funeral services for Mr William Henry Grant, age 93, of Winter Park, who passed away Thursday, will be conducted Monday at 3 pm at the First Baptist Church of Winter Park with Dr J.C. Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow at Palm Cemetery. Visitation for friends will be Sunday from 2-4 pm at the Aloma Avenue Chapel of the Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home.

Mr Grant was a carpenter and builder, was a member of the American Legion, Winter Park Shuffleboard Club and Winter Park Historical Society.

In 1918 he married Marion Eldredge who survives. He is also survived by a daughter Lois Grant Snipes and grandsons, George William Snipes and Curtis Alan Snipes.
