Wallace Edward Collinson, age 78, passed away peacefully at his home in Sandy on September 7, 2014.
He was born August 16, 1936 in Salt Lake City to Selby L. Collinson and Billie Lucille Wright. He attended West High School. He married Georgina Haddock on August 17, 1956 in Salt Lake City.
Wallace was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved the outdoors and was an avid fly-fisherman. He was also a history buff and particularly enjoyed researching the events and the people of the old west.
He is survived by his wife, Georgina Haddock Collinson; and daughters, Colleen Nixon and Diane Paulson; as well as eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Wallace Kent Collinson; and his grandson, Jeff Paulson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., with a viewing beginning at 9:30 a.m., on Saturday, September 13, 2014 in the Hillcrest Third Ward Chapel, 1165 East 8600 South, Sandy. Interment will be held in the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 South Highland Drive (1495 East), East Millcreek.
