Our loving husband, father and grandfather, Richard Wright, 82, passed away on March 23, 2008. He resided at 1287 West Marinwood Avenue (4910 South) in Taylorsville, Utah at the time of his death.

Born November 15, 1925 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Richard Hammond and Nellie Alvina Haynes Wright. Served in the Army during World War II. Married Betty Jean Souter June 11, 1949. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Served in three bishoprics, two stake presidencies and many, many years with scouting and youth. He has been involved in scouting his whole life. Loved camping, fishing and his puzzles. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

Survived by his wife, Betty; children: Christie (Rodney) Steadman, David (Terri) Wright, Charlene (Shawn) Gray; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Francis Herbert Wright. Preceded in death by granddaughter, . Jessie Jean Steadman

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 28, 2008, 11:00 a.m. at the Taylorsville Park Ward Chapel, 1555 West Lovely Road (5095 South). Friends and Family may gather on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood and at the Church on Friday, 10-10:40 a.m.²

Our loving mother, grandmother, and friend, Betty Wright, 81, passed away on January 4, 2011. She resided at 1287 West Marinwood Avenue (4910 South) in Taylorsville, Utah at the time of her death.

Born May 25, 1929 in Salt Lake City, Utah to John Harrison and Florence Annie Ackroyd Souter.

Betty married Richard J. Wright on June 11, 1949. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.

A dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Betty faithfully served many years as a leader in the Relief Society and Primary. She devoted herself to following the example of Jesus Christ by providing service to those in need. Betty was an excellent cook and loved camping and playing games with family and friends. Her greatest joy was lovingly fulfilling her role as wife, mother, and grandmother.

Survived by children: Christie (Rodney) Steadman, David (Terri) Wright, Charlene (Shawn) Gray; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband, Richard; granddaughter, Jessie Jean Steadman.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 10, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Taylorsville Park Ward Chapel, 1555 West Lovely Road (5095 South). Friends and family may gather on Sunday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road (1700 West), and at the Church on Monday from 9:30-10:30 a.m.
