In Harmony, on the 16th of Feb, Elizabeth , consort of the late Isaac Hale aged 74 years.
In her last sickness she manifested that patience, and resignation to the will of God, which so invariably characterizes the humble and devo-follower of the meek and lowley Savior, when about to depart and be with Christ. For fifty one years she was a faithful, devoted, and exemplary member of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
Long will be remembered, within the circle of her acquaintance, her unwavering zeal, christain deportment, and pious example, and longer yet will be remembered the scenes of her death bed. There while struggling in the cold grasp of the King of terrors, with a placid eye, and serene countenance, she could look up to heaven, and exultingly exclaim Glory; Glory to God and to the Lamb! That God is whom she trusted, armed her for the last deadly conflict. The sting was taken from death, and the victory from tho grave; and she sweetly fell asleep in the arms of Jesus; leaving behind her an undeniable evidenced of that soul cheering passage in the volume of Holy Writ; which says "Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord, from henceforth; yea saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors & their works do follow them."
