Thomas P. Barry
Easton Thomas "Tom" Parker Barry, age 85, of North Easton, died unexpectedly Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. Born in Taunton, attended schools in Dighton and at Brown University, he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was a service manager of Firestone Tire Co. for 31 years within the Boston area and New England. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and spending winters in Venice, Fla., and was an avid golfer.
He was the devoted husband of the late Jean C. (Haglund) Barry; loving father of Thomas P. and his wife Anne of South Easton, John T. and his wife Rosetta of Reading and Ann Prohodski and her husband Paul of Millis; brother of Virginia Sears of Taunton, Ralph Barry of Venice, Fla., Richard Barry of Lakeville, Janet Simmons of Dighton, Judith Weiner of Venice, Fla., and the late Betty Thiboutot of Dighton; loving Bampa of Christopher Barry, Lauren (Barry) Annarelli, Alexander and Paul Prohodski, Meghan and Michelle Barry; dear friend of Mary Ripley of Stoughon.
A gathering of friends and relatives will take place a the Copeland-MacKinnon Funeral Home, 38 Center St., Easton, Friday, May 23, 2008, at 10 a.m. for a celebration of Tom's life. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tom's memory to Dana Farber Cancer Research, 10 Brookline Place, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445.
